Madonna di Campiglio-Pinzolo – On Saturday, 28 January 2017, punctually at 18:10 the starting signal was shot in Madonna di Campiglio-Pinzolo for Vertical Up.
Close to 300 starters rose to the challenge to overcome the Vertical Up – course with a length of 2.000 meters, partly a steep angle of 70 degrees and an altitude difference of 900 height meters.
Under tough conditions, Philip Götsch outclassed his competition from the strongly occupied speed category in a high-class race with a time of 30:01,1 . With such outstanding time and a great finish, he relegated his competitors Patrick Facchini with a time of 30:32,0 and Dominik Salcher with a time of 31:50,6 to places two and three.
The fastest female participant was Victoria Kreuzer from the Swiss National Skimo Team with a time of 37:06,4. Susanne Mair came second place, while Verena Krenslehner-Schmid came third place.
